Global Mamas (Women in Progress) – Fair Trade in Ghana – John & Fran Kennedy, Karen Hicks, presenters

John and Fran Kennedy will talk about working in Ghana in the 1960’s and their current involvement with Global Mamas, a group of Ghanaian women entrepreneurs working to create better lives for their families. Clothing, kitchen items, ornaments, jewelry, accessories and shea butter products produced by Global Mamas will be available. Karen Hicks will explain how she became involved with a Ghanaian Seamstress whose clothing will also be for sale.

Halloween has become a commercial holiday with its spiritual basis largely forgotten. This session will be about the unexpected connection between religion and horror movies. How are fear and spirituality connected? The lessons from movies will be considered, along with viewer-friendly images.
