This edition will focus on the month’s theme of “Journey.” Tom Repasch will show film clips and facilitate a discussion about three classic and contemporary movies.

Community Schools – It Takes a Village to Raise a Child – Rosa Carides-Hof, Community School Coordinator at Donegan Elem. School, – Presenter

Rosa will talk about what is a Community School, how this model helps students and families and how the public can get personally involved. Rosa has earned a bachelor’s degree from U. of Puerto Rico and a masters in Educational Learning from Lehigh U. She has been an advocate for under served families since 2003 in Bethlehem.

This is an analytical history of a fascinating subject, the Electoral College, which is now back in the news again. Learn about the original reason for it, which is closely connected to slavery, and the modern reasons for and against it

The Presidential Election of 1876 – Phil Reiss, Presenter

This was a critical election as its outcome saw the Republican Party abandon its Reconstruction policies, hence leaving southern blacks without northern Republican political support.
