The Good Samaritan: Charity as an ‘Initial Act,’ with More to Follow

The Good Samaritan offers substantial help to a person who was robbed and beaten up on the Jericho road. Dr. Martin Luther King describes such help as only an “initial act,” because we need to ask why the road is so dangerous in the first place and how it could be made safer for all.
