No Sunday Service on Mar 15

All church events for this Sunday, March 15 are cancelled.

Message from Rev. Madelyn Campbell:

Beloveds,

After careful consideration, and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided that our best course of action at this time is to cancel all events this Sunday, March 15. That means there will be no religious education, no breakfast forum, and no worship service. Pastor Madelyn’s storytelling workshop will be rescheduled for a later date.

Sunday morning services, including religious education and breakfast forum, will remain closed for at least March. Beginning next Sunday, March 22, we will offer on online worship service, and we will keep you informed as to how you may participate in that. Breakfast forum is also exploring possible other options.

We did not make these decisions lightly. We took into account guidelines from the CDC and also recommendations from the UUA, and we also looked to our neighbors in faith here in Bethlehem. Our primary concern is to protect the most vulnerable among us.

The Board will be meeting shortly to consider the bigger picture beyond Sunday mornings. Please remember, whether the doors of our building are open or not, the church, that is, this community, remains open for business.

I am available to you whether I’m in my study on Center St. or working from my home. Stay tuned for more information on a daily prayer and meditation service coming this week, and for more information about Sunday morning online worship. We are here for each other. Our hearts touch even when our hands do not.

In shalom,
Pastor Madelyn
