Take a Breath: Mindfulness at Work – Brooke Kohler, MA, RYT, Dir. of Mindfulness Programs, Presenter

Shanthi Project is a nonprofit organization that offers therapeutic yoga and mindfulness strategies to trauma survivors of all ages. In this presentation, join Brooke as she shares what Shanthi’s mindfulness in the classroom looks like. Discussion will include how this program began; what mindfulness offers to teachers, students, and families and even some mindfulness strategies you can use and practice at home.

Scientific Humanism: The Positives and the Negatives – Frank Stone, Presenter

In the previous session we looked at the human brain as an extraordinarily complex physical object that along with the body and the environment makes a human being what he or she is. Here we examine some of the upsides and also some of the downsides of that particular view.

Lehigh Dialogue Center (LDC) – Muhammed Said Selmanlar, Pres. of LDC, Presenter

Guest speaker M. Said Selmanlar was born in Turkey in 1994 and came to U.S. 3 years ago. He is the current president of the Lehigh Dialogue Center which was founded in  2004 as a 501(c) non-profit and non-political organization by a group of dedicated volunteers of business people, academicians and professionals in the Lehigh Valley. LDC aims to promote mutual understanding and common commitments throughout the world for enriching social good.
