After the service on March 5th, Rev. Larry Smith will lead an in-person gathering in the Trexler Room for people who are experiencing grief over congregational changes. In the Assessment of Ministries last spring, congregants mentioned grief in their reflections on congregational life. Termination of settled ministries and the loss of the building were mentioned as causes for grief, but there are probably other issues to discuss. After this meeting, the Committee on Shared Ministry will meet, review the gatherings, and determine the next steps.
In “Macbeth,” Shakespeare states, “Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak knits up the o-er wrought heart and bids it break.” Please attend this gathering if you are experiencing feelings of grief or loss in regard to the church.
